About the role

AWS Enterprise Support, Technical Account Managers (TAM) support our customers’ creative and transformative spirit of innovation across all technologies, including Compute, Storage, Database, Big Data, Application-level Services, Networking, GenAI, Serverless, Deployment, Security and more. This is not a sales role, but rather an opportunity to be the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' to organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 enterprises.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative architectural and operational guidance delivered in the context of customer’s applications and use-cases to help them achieve the greatest value from AWS.
  • Work with their customer to provide tailored engagements including Strategic Business Reviews, Security Improvement Programs, guided Well-Architected reviews, workshops, and a range of proactive services.
  • Consult on architecture, governance, security, and operations and other pillars of building on AWS.
  • Represent AWS within a customer’s environment, and drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support and risk management.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices, and proactively keep your customers’ AWS environments operationally healthy and resilient.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges, and help them achieve the greatest value from AWS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or 4+ years of technical work experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead.
  • Experience with development in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars and ability to properly apply them to existing or new customer architecture, implementations, and/or solutions.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, presenting to an audience containing one or more executive team member(s).
  • Strong foundation in data modeling, database design, and architecting data solutions that support scalable, well-structured systems.
  • Experience applying technical or operational expertise to identify, balance trade-offs, and solve difficult challenges.

Skills

  • Technical acumen and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to travel 10% or more as needed.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
