About The Role The Lead Cloud Software Engineer will be an integral part of the Mission Networks Cloud Engineering team, focusing on leveraging cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud to develop and deploy scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based solutions. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in software development, cloud architecture, and microservices deployment. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design software architectures, and implement APIs and serverless frameworks to ensure mission-critical readiness. The role involves leading the design, development, and integration of cloud applications within an Agile environment. Responsibilities include building automated deployment pipelines, providing operational support, and ensuring high availability of cloud services. The candidate will also work on tasks such as rapid prototyping, integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, and deploying cloud solutions that meet stringent security and performance standards. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of 6-9 years of software development experience.Graduate Degree with at least 4-7 years of relevant experience.Alternatively, a minimum of 10-12 years of software experience in lieu of a degree. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and integration of cloud software applications in an Agile environment.Develop cloud-based applications and configure deployment environments to ensure seamless integration between cloud and non-cloud components.Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to review designs, estimates, and identify risks, assumptions, and limitations.Implement DevOps best practices to automate build, test, and deployment processes, enhancing continuous integration and delivery.Provide operational support to ensure applications meet high availability standards and service level agreements (SLAs).Design, develop, and deploy microservices in Kubernetes-based environments such as EKS or OpenShift.Apply microservice architectural patterns to create scalable and maintainable enterprise systems.Work with cloud environments focusing on containerized workloads, databases, and object storage solutions.Maintain the ability to obtain and retain an FAA public trust clearance.
