About the role
GDIT is seeking a Senior Cloud System Administrator / Integrator with deep experience supporting Army systems in cloud and hybrid environments. You will apply advanced systems design and integration principles to deliver secure, interoperable, and cloud-optimized solutions. You will lead cloud integration and system administration efforts across on-prem, tactical, and cloud-hosted environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and mission-ready architectures aligned with Army and DoD cloud strategies, including AC2SP/ALTESS and relevant DoD cloud initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud-focused integration and system administration across AC2SP/ALTESS-aligned environments, supporting Army cloud migration, modernization, and convergence initiatives
- Design and manage hybrid architectures that integrate on-prem Army systems, tactical edge environments, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Government, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AC2SP, ALTESS)
- Administer and integrate workloads within Azure and OCI environments, including compute (VMs, containers, serverless where applicable), storage (blobs, disks, object storage), networking (VNets, subnets, gateways, peering, VPNs), and identity and access services (Azure AD, OCI IAM, role-based access control)
- Support migration and sustainment of geospatial systems (e.g., ArcGIS) into cloud-native and hybrid architectures, ensuring performance, reliability, and secure access
- Implement and maintain DevSecOps pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) of cloud-hosted applications and services
- Automate system configuration, patching, and monitoring using PowerShell, cloud-native automation tools (e.g., Azure Automation, OCI Resource Manager, Lambda/Functions), and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, DSC)
- Ensure cloud-hosted systems meet DoD RMF, STIG, and Impact Level (IL2–IL6) compliance requirements
- Support cross-domain and multi-security-level integrations involving data flows between tactical, on-prem, and cloud environments
- Monitor cloud system health, performance, and availability using cloud-native observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, OCI Monitoring, CloudWatch if applicable)
- Troubleshoot integration issues across multi-vendor and multi-cloud ecosystems in real time, ensuring mission continuity and resilience
Key responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for cloud integration and system administration across AC2SP, Azure, OCI, and related cloud environments supporting Army missions
- Develop and maintain cloud system architecture artifacts, including cloud reference architectures, data flow diagrams, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Lead integration of geospatial platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise) into cloud-hosted and hybrid environments, ensuring secure access and optimized performance
- Configure and manage virtual machines, containers, and platform services in Azure/OCI; Identity and Access Management (IAM) in Azure AD and OCI including role-based access control (RBAC), conditional access and security policies; and networking in the cloud including VNets, subnets, NSGs, gateways, and hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, FastConnect)
- Support cloud landing zone implementation and sustainment for Army and DoD environments
- Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM templates), and OCI Resource Manager (Terraform-based)
- Apply PowerShell and REST API integrations for cloud resource orchestration, diagnostics and remediation, and automated governance and compliance checks
- Ensure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF), DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and DoD Cloud SRG (Impact Levels IL2–IL6)
- Provide technical input for AC2SP and Army cloud migration planning and execution, including assessments of readiness, risk, and performance
