Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

WarCollar Industries is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security / Cyber Development Engineer to support mission-critical cybersecurity operations in a dynamic Cloud Security Operations Center (CSOC) environment. This is an opportunity to apply deep expertise in cloud security, cyber development, automation, and SIEM technologies to strengthen enterprise-scale defensive cyber operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with extensive experience across AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud, strong Python development and scripting capabilities, and a proven ability to develop and optimize security monitoring and automated incident response capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement enterprise-scale cloud security monitoring solutions.
• Develop Python-based scripts, tools, and automation to improve cybersecurity operations and response.
• Build and implement automated incident response playbooks to streamline CSOC processes.
• Develop, tune, and optimize Splunk detections for AWS and other cloud environments using Splunk Query Language.
• Collaborate with CSOC analysts and engineers to coordinate incident response and improve defensive capabilities.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
• Plan and execute cyber exercises and drills to strengthen operational readiness.
• Develop technical reference materials, training resources, and best practices for cloud security and incident response.
• Identify opportunities to improve cybersecurity processes, tooling, and automation.
• Stay current with emerging threats, cloud security technologies, cybersecurity trends, and relevant AI concepts supporting cloud and incident response.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in cloud security, cloud engineering, or cyber operations.
• 7+ years of experience with operating systems, network infrastructure, security principles, or system architecture.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud.
• 3+ years of coding and scripting experience with Python.
• Strong experience with SIEM technologies, particularly Splunk.
• Experience developing security detections, automation, and incident response capabilities.
• Strong understanding of cloud security architecture, cyber operations, and defensive security principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate across technical teams, and mentor junior personnel.
