Cloud Network Engineer, Senior
About the role
A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the company to achieve their missions. This role involves designing, upgrading, and developing enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshooting complex network issues, and increasing security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize network infrastructure using AWS, PAN-OS NGFWs, and network management tools.
- Implement and maintain network protocols, equipment, and emerging technologies.
- Monitor and alert on network performance to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Zero Trust Architecture and enhance security.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of cloud security expertise.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS, PAN-OS NGFWs, and network management tools.
- Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP, IP, DNS, and MPLS.
- Programming and scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Experience with network monitoring and alerting functions.
- Understanding of SDLC, including design, development, build, deployment, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.
- Experience with AWS networking services and their integration and implementation.
- Ability to identify and assess network threats and risks.
- Experience with ITIL, Git, and DevOps platforms such as GitLab and GitHub.
- Clearance: Secret clearance required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in network design and architecture.
- BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience with hybrid CSP, datacenter, and interconnect operations and management.
Skills
- Network design and architecture.
