Cloud Native Software Engineer
About the role
We are the data authority for hybrid cloud, helping customers realize the full potential of their data. Our team develops innovative solutions to solve the challenges of persistent storage consumption for Kubernetes applications and other container technologies. We work closely with upstream communities to provide code and leadership in defining persistent storage strategy.
As part of the Trident team, you will lead the design and implementation of major features for our containerized storage solution. You will drive innovation, contribute to open-source software, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of major features for a containerized storage solution.
- Drive innovation and contribute to open-source software projects.
- Promote software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Programming experience in Go.
- Experience developing in a Kubernetes and/or Cloud service (AWS/Azure/GCP) environment.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Experience with Linux or other Unix-like Operating Systems, including troubleshooting network issues.
- Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, CI build systems, and Automated Testing frameworks.
- Experience in Agile Software Development practices.
- Strong understanding of data structures, software engineering concepts, and programming best practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 2 years of experience, a Master’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python or other high-level languages.
- Experience working in open-source communities.
- Experience with NetApp storage or cloud native storage platforms.
Pay
The target salary range for this position is $113,050 - $168,300 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings' (OTE), representing the total potential earnings, which includes base salary and potential commission when performance targets are achieved.
