Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Kubernetes & KubeVirt (REF1242M)
Mirantis is the Kubernetes-native AI infrastructure company, enabling organizations to build and operate scalable, secure, and sovereign infrastructure for modern AI, machine learning, and data-intensive applications. By combining open source innovation with deep expertise in Kubernetes orchestration, Mirantis empowers platform engineering teams to deliver composable, production-ready developer platforms across any environment—on-premises, in the cloud, at the edge, or in sovereign data centers.
About the role
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Kubernetes & KubeVirt will architect and deliver enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms deployed across hybrid AWS and Azure environments, supporting mission-critical workloads.
- Design, implement, and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure to support both containerized and virtualized workloads, leveraging KubeVirt to unify VM and container management, reducing infrastructure complexity and improving operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain production observability platforms to improve mean time to resolution (MTTR) and overall system reliability.
- Establish and enforce DevSecOps standards, including Harbor registry security, image scanning, container security controls, access management, RBAC enforcement, and compliance baselines.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code, standardizing environments and reducing deployment times.
- Implement and operate Argo CD-based GitOps deployment workflows to ensure reproducible and auditable releases across environments.
- Lead cloud modernization initiatives, migrating legacy platforms to cloud-native architectures.
- Define and maintain organizational cloud governance, security policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership through mentoring, technical design reviews, and collaboration with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Implement and support multi-network pod configurations using Multus CNI to enable complex VM and container networking use cases.
- Implement and manage GitOps-based CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD and Helm to support controlled, auditable infrastructure changes.
- Develop and maintain reusable reference architectures and automation frameworks for repeatable Kubernetes deployments.
- Design and operate Kubernetes networking solutions for bare-metal and hybrid clusters, including MetalLB-based load balancing.
- Troubleshoot advanced Kubernetes networking issues involving CNI plugins, secondary interfaces, IPAM, and traffic routing.
- Integrate networking configurations with KubeVirt workloads requiring multiple network attachments.
Telecommuting permitted.
