About the Opportunity

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support software development and data science teams. This role ensures secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environments, enabling the organization to efficiently deploy applications and analyze data within a regulated healthcare research context.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform using infrastructure as code
  • Manage cloud networking components such as VPCs, load balancers, DNS, Cloud Router, NAT, and firewall rules
  • Manage and optimize cloud compute resources including GCE instances and Cloud Run
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions or Google Cloud Build
  • Design and maintain observability infrastructure for metrics collection, log aggregation, and dashboards
  • Implement and maintain security and compliance controls suitable for regulated healthcare research
  • Manage cloud services including backup and disaster recovery
  • Support deployment and maintenance of internal applications and infrastructure
  • Promote containerization best practices and support containerized workload deployments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud infrastructure with existing workflows
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and deployment issues
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams
  • Stay updated on cloud technology trends and evaluate relevant tools

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong proficiency with Google Cloud Platform; AWS or Azure experience considered
  • Linux administration skills and comfort with command line environments
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking and security management
  • Experience with metrics collection and operational dashboards
  • Proficiency in scripting or automating infrastructure tasks (Python or similar)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear documentation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Pay

The target salary range is $110,000 to $130,000 annually. Base pay may vary within this range based on education, knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
