Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As an experienced cloud computing infrastructure architect, you’ll oversee a team of professionals and use cutting-edge enterprise cloud platforms to guide clients as they modernize their IT infrastructure and meet their most challenging missions. You’ll collaborate with architects and engineers specializing in Classified System Platforms to build cloud solution components, broaden your DevOps experience, and manage container apps using products like Kubernetes. With internal support, you’ll explore innovative solutions to client problems and lead your team to deliver the right technical solutions—whether modernizing legacy systems or creating new ones from scratch.

This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO or the Washington Metro area.

Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and deploy Cloud-native and hybrid environments supporting mission and data workloads
  • Work with networking, security groups, IAM, routing, and policy management in relation to Cloud resources across multiple operating systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows)
  • Build and manage Cloud environments across multiple impact levels, regions, and providers
  • Support DoD or IC Cloud environments, security requirements, and certification frameworks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver technical solutions for JWCC and C2E initiatives
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and configuration management tools

Requirements

  • Experience with Cloud engineering, architecture, management, maintenance, and enhancement in enterprise environments
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure supporting enterprise-scale Cloud architecture and platform transformation
  • Experience building and managing Cloud environments across multiple impact levels, regions, and providers
  • Experience supporting DoD or IC Cloud environments, security requirements, and certification frameworks
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and configuration management tools
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8570 Certification such as Security+ Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline solutions (Jenkins, Bamboo, Travis CI, GitLab)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and Cloud platform services
  • Experience building Cloud Data Plane and Mission Plane architectures
  • Knowledge of DoD accreditation and Cloud authorization processes
  • Ability to work through challenging security requirements and maintain compliance in classified environments
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • AWS or Azure Certifications

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

  • Remote: Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer sites as needed.
  • Onsite: Primary work location at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

For virtual work, cameras are generally expected to be on during meetings to support engagement and communication.
