Cloud Enterprise architect
KBR is seeking a Cloud Enterprise Architect to support our customer in Chantilly, VA. This role operates in a highly classified environment, directly supporting mission effectiveness, scalability, and long-term technology planning for national security objectives.
About the Role
The Cloud Enterprise Architect provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support, delivering enterprise-level cloud architecture guidance across mission systems. This role ensures architectural consistency, interoperability, and compliance across a portfolio of cloud solutions. The architect advises government stakeholders on technical strategy, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies while aligning solutions to mission needs and lifecycle frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure architectural consistency, interoperability, and integration across enterprise cloud solutions and mission systems
- Develop, maintain, and enforce architectural governance frameworks and architectural decision records (ADRs)
- Lead security architecture reviews and compliance assessments across cloud platforms and enterprise systems
- Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and ensure alignment with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and continuous monitoring requirements
- Provide technical advisory support to government stakeholders on architecture strategy, cloud adoption, and vendor selection
- Contribute expertise in systems engineering lifecycle processes, MLOps pipeline design, and Data Mesh architectures
- Define enterprise security guardrails, control frameworks, and technical standards for development teams
- Review and validate system and cloud architecture designs to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives
- Manage cloud cost optimization strategies, track program schedules and milestones, and support financial governance of cloud resources
- Coordinate across multiple programs and solution teams, integrating Agile/Scrum methodologies and managing interdependencies
Qualifications
- Intermediate-level experience:
- Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise; OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise; OR
- No degree with 10+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph
- Experience supporting cloud environments or enterprise IT systems within DoD or Intelligence Community settings
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and enterprise system architecture principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting IC space/counterspace mission systems
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect, Security+, or similar)
- Experience with hybrid cloud, cross-domain solutions, or secure classified cloud environments

Pay
Base compensation range: $175,200 - $195,000 (Virginia area only). The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
