Cloud Engineer – Tech Lead (FaaS Platform)
About the role
The Cloud Engineer – Tech Lead (FaaS Platform) is responsible for driving the design and delivery of event-driven, serverless solutions. They guide reliability, scalability, and multi-region strategies while delivering complex work through others. They mentor engineers and elevate technical capability across the team, partnering with security, compliance, and engineering teams to improve developer experience through platform capabilities, tooling, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Drive design and delivery of event-driven, serverless solutions
- Guide reliability, scalability, and multi-region strategies
- Deliver complex work through others while remaining hands-on
- Mentor engineers and elevate technical capability across the team
- Partner with security, compliance, and engineering teams
- Improve developer experience through platform capabilities, tooling, and documentation
Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years related work experience
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience
- Deep AWS experience, including Lambda and event-driven architectures
- Experience with software development. Languages needed: Python, Node (nice to have), Java (nice to have)
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code and reusable platform patterns
- Experience building and operating distributed, highly available systems
- Understanding of cloud security, IAM, and enterprise compliance
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and production operations
- Knowledge of HTTP and Web patterns (nice to have: strong experience)
Requirements
- Experience building or operating internal platforms or developer tooling
- Strong focus on self-service capabilities and developer experience
- Experience supporting production systems with on-call accountability
Technical Leadership
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives
- Experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction
- Strong collaboration across cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to influence decisions beyond immediate team
