About the role

The Cloud Engineer at CGI Federal plays a pivotal role in advancing the national security mission through cutting-edge technology. They design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure and systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop cloud-based systems and applications that leverage cloud services.
  • Deploy and integrate cloud services and software into an organization's infrastructure.
  • Oversee the daily operations of cloud environments, ensuring they run smoothly and meet performance standards.
  • Plan and execute the transfer of an organization's on-premise data and applications to the cloud.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security best practices to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Monitor resource usage and costs to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and other operational tasks to improve speed and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues within cloud systems to ensure uninterrupted service.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience.
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • DevOps: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD.
  • Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in coding and scripting.
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Networking: Solid understanding of network concepts.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills.
  • Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with different teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD.
  • Proficiency in coding and scripting.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00.
