Cloud Engineer / IS Systems Engineering
Position Summary
Hartford Healthcare’s (HHC) cloud technology is an integral part of our digital transformation strategy. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the design and management of HHC’s cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy.
Position Responsibilities
- Working independently and in collaboration with system engineers, developers, application, and security teams to architect, deploy, and maintain hybrid, multi-cloud environment (IaaS, PaaS, etc.) with consideration to application performance, uptime, security, scalability, cost optimization and business continuity.
- Develop, deploy and maintain monitoring, orchestration, automation, and configuration management tools in alignment with DevSecOps strategy.
- Responsible for day-to-day cloud infrastructure operational tasks such as monitoring metrics and logs, responding to alerts, and system troubleshooting, including Cloud to on-prem related system issues.
- Document infrastructure design, related technical procedures, operations manuals, and other best practice guidance and strategies.
- Educate and mentor others on Cloud technologies and initiatives to jointly define, document, and enforce cloud architecture best practices; availability, redundancy schemes, performance, disaster recovery based on business unit requirements.
Qualifications Requirements and Specifications
- Education: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR the equivalent of 5 years of relevant work experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum: 3 years of experience in the field of cloud computing. 5+ years of core systems engineering experience. 3+ years working with API's/IaC/Scripting to interconnect various applications and build workflows to provide efficient user lifecycle management. Windows and Linux operating systems in a server environment. Experience with third-party tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Snowflake and Ansible. Preferred: 5+ years of experience in the field of cloud computing, specifically with Google Cloud Platform. 6-10 years of core systems engineering experience. 3+ years creating API's/IaC/Scripting to interconnect various applications and build workflows to provide efficient user lifecycle management. Windows and Linux operating systems in a server environment. Terraform Experience with third-party tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Snowflake and Ansible.
Requirements
- Professional Cloud Technical certification (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- Professional Cloud Advanced Technical certification (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
- Microsoft MCSE Server 2016
Language Skills
- Excellent communication skills with emphasis on the ability to communicate effectively through clear, concise delivery coupled with listening attentively, valuing others’ perspectives, creating open dialogue in own areas of influence, and effectively conveying technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Good writing skills with the ability to write with accuracy, simplicity, and completeness while providing an appropriate level of detail for the intended audience.
