About the role
The Cloud Engineer I position at IFS Softeon is a full-time role located in Reston, VA. This role requires on-site presence three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and manage cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS, Azure, or similar.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to implement cloud-native architectures and CI/CD processes.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture and procedures.
- Support our clients by troubleshooting and resolving issues across cloud environments and applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- At least one year of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
- Mandatory: One of the following valid certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
- Microsoft Certified – Azure Administrator
- Oracle Cloud Architect – Associate or Professional
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deep understanding of cloud security, identity management, and networking.
Qualifications
- This role is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence three days a week in Reston, VA.
- Preferred: Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in cloud cost optimization and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK).
