Cloud Engineer I - Softeon

About the role

The Cloud Engineer I position at IFS Softeon is a full-time role located in Reston, VA. This role requires on-site presence three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and manage cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS, Azure, or similar.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to implement cloud-native architectures and CI/CD processes.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture and procedures.
• Support our clients by troubleshooting and resolving issues across cloud environments and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• At least one year of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
• Mandatory: One of the following valid certifications:
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
• Microsoft Certified – Azure Administrator
• Oracle Cloud Architect – Associate or Professional
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of cloud security, identity management, and networking.

Qualifications

• This role is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence three days a week in Reston, VA.
• Preferred: Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in cloud cost optimization and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK).
