Cloud Engineer – Containers and Infrastructure

About the role

Performs software development and testing on a forward-looking team for private cloud solutions and microservices containerization and infrastructure development. Participates in all phases of the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level testing, container and infrastructure evaluation, and related tasks
• Document system test results, failure reports, and documentation deficiencies
• Isolate root cause of problems with containers and infrastructure
• Maintain system documents (updates and corrections)
• Follow directions of system container and infrastructure engineering leads

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying microservices to a Kubernetes cluster
• Demonstrated proficiency with containerization infrastructure
• Experience with Helm
• Experience with container technologies such as Podman and K3s
• Experience working with CNI, Virtual IP load balancers such as Calico or Multus, and Kube-Vip
• Proficiency with Linux

Desired Skills

• Experience with C++ and Java software development
• Experience deploying DevSecOps pipelines in Microsoft Azure
• Ability to perform as a self-starter and work with minimal supervision and oversight when required
• Ability to use technical information, tables, and drawings
• Ability to perform system configuration or troubleshooting procedures related to containers and infrastructure

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent STEM field and at least 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience/combined education
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance (U.S. Citizen required)

Salary Range: $120,000 – $170,000
