Cloud Engineer
Job Summary
The IT Division of the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization's cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure to support reliable, scalable, and cost-effective technology services. Working collaboratively with Information Technology, cybersecurity, applications, and business teams, this position leads cloud infrastructure initiatives, automates system deployments, supports cloud migrations, and ensures the security, performance, and availability of enterprise systems. The Cloud Engineer also oversees backup and disaster recovery solutions, manages cloud and infrastructure services, enforces governance and compliance standards, and provides technical expertise to support the organization's evolving technology needs and strategic goals.
Education and Experience
- A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related field.
- • Two (2) years of extensive recent experience supporting and administering cloud, hybrid, and enterprise infrastructure environments, including server systems, operating systems, storage platforms, cloud services, backup and recovery solutions, identity services, and related infrastructure technologies; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
