Cloud Engagement Architect

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Engagement Architect to support a company focused on delivering secure cloud modernization, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture solutions for government and defense customers. This position is remote. The Engagement Architect will lead cloud strategy, architecture, and security initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor for client engagements. This is an opportunity to help mission-driven organizations modernize critical infrastructure and securely adopt cloud technologies at scale. Responsibilities for the Engagement Architect include: Lead the development of cloud and security strategies, target-state architectures, technology roadmaps, and transformation plans.Design and implement secure, compliant cloud and enterprise infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments using Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.Serve as the primary technical advisor for client engagements, providing architecture guidance, stakeholder communication, and relationship management.Author and review technical design documentation, security artifacts, and solution architectures aligned with industry and vendor best practices.Support cloud modernization initiatives by managing project risks, advising on cloud governance, and ensuring high-quality deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Required Qualifications for the Engagement Architect include: 6+ years of security engineering, systems engineering, or security architecture experience.5+ years of cloud architecture experience supporting AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments.Strong experience designing secure enterprise cloud infrastructure, networking, boundary protection, and compliance-focused solutions.Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to engage technical and executive stakeholders.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
