Work model: Remote-first
Employment: Internship
About the role
CaelumenAI is building the governed production layer for agent-native software. PERCO, our flagship product, turns agent output into a reviewable plan, a controlled release, and evidence of what happened. As a Cloud Development Engineering Intern, you will work across our application, cloud infrastructure, deployment workflows, and verification tooling. You will own small, real product slices from a clearly scoped problem through implementation, browser and system validation, and an evidence-backed handoff.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve cloud-backed product and deployment workflows across Python, web, APIs, and Google Cloud
- Work with coding agents as collaborators: prepare context, review outputs, and make final engineering decisions
- Automate repeatable checks with pytest, Playwright, logs, and deployment evidence
- Investigate failures to root cause and ship durable fixes with regression coverage
- Help maintain secure, observable, human-controlled release paths
Requirements
- One substantive project you designed, built, tested, and debugged that you can explain in detail
- Working proficiency in Python or JavaScript or TypeScript, Git, and web fundamentals
- Familiarity with cloud services, containers, CI/CD, or infrastructure as code through coursework, personal work, or prior experience
- Comfort reading logs, testing in a real browser, and iterating until a user-facing flow works
- Clear written communication and a bias toward ownership, careful judgment, and evidence
Nice to have
- Experience with Google Cloud, Cloud Run, PostgreSQL, Docker, or GitHub Actions
- Familiarity with AI coding agents, MCP, or agent evaluation workflows
- Open-source contributions or a deployed product that real people can use
Benefits
- Direct mentorship on real production work
- High ownership over scoped, end-to-end engineering projects
- Flexible remote collaboration with an option to work from San Francisco
- Work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, AI agents, and responsible delivery
