About the role

A leading technology company providing advanced solutions to government and commercial clients is seeking a highly skilled individual to drive critical database migration and administration initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead SQL migrations from on-premises environments to AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including SQL Always-on and SQL Cluster.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and performance tune enterprise SQL Server database systems across on-premises, AWS, and Azure Cloud.
  • Drive database architecture, capacity planning, and implement disaster recovery strategies for SQL environments targeting cloud platforms.
  • Automate operational workflows, enforce robust security practices, and mentor other DBAs on AWS and Azure Cloud practices.
  • Monitor performance, integrity, and security, performing routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams, managing database accounts and ensuring compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven expertise in SQL Server administration across on-premises and AWS/Azure Cloud environments, including versions 2012–2022.
  • Hands-on experience migrating SQL Always-on and SQL Clusters to Azure and AWS Cloud (IaaS and PaaS).
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot performance issues, analyze execution plans, and implement database performance optimizations.
  • Experience implementing database security solutions like TDE and SSL/TLS, and maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
