Cloud Camp is the Broadmoor’s highest wilderness experience all-inclusive adult getaway. Sitting at 9,000 ft, Cloud Camp offers its guests unforgettable experiences to include world-class food and beverage offerings, daily activities, and extraordinary accommodations. As a member of the Cloud Camp team, the Mule Skinner will provide safe, fun, and efficient mule rides to/from Cloud Camp while providing appropriate care and training to the herd. Responsibilities
- Guide mule rides for guests that matches the Broadmoor’s 5-star, 5 diamond rating.
- Ensure that mules receive appropriate feeding, basic medical care and are kept in a healthy condition.
- Answer all guest questions and make riders feel safe and welcome.
- Provide interesting facts and information to riders about the history of mules, Cloud Camp, and The Broadmoor.
- Collaborate with the mules to train them to provide safe, reliable transportation.
- Ensure Mule barn is clean to include daily pen mucking.
- Maintain a journal for Mule Skinner staff regarding daily trips to/from Cloud Camp.
- Maintain inventory and ensure security for all inventory related to the Mule Skinner service.
- Report all necessary repairs and safety issues in a timely manner to Managers.
- Assist other positions as needed to ensure smooth operations of Cloud Camp.
- Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- All other duties as assigned for the Cloud Camp operation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- One to two years of equine care and guiding (horses or mules) experience required.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Heavy lifting (up to 65lbs.) with a work environment primarily outdoors.
- Ability to work at an altitude of greater than 9,000 feet and acclimate daily.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time and walk; use hands to handle, grip, point, feel and reach; talk and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred in order to assist with transporting items for guests and guest activities.

Pay
$19.50 per hour.
