Cloud Application Architect, Lead
About the role
The Cloud Application Architect, Lead role at Booz Allen is designed for individuals with extensive experience in cloud architecture and development. This role involves working with teams to leverage and expand the client’s capabilities, translating customer needs, and assisting in the migration and solutioning of mission-critical capabilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting, building, and deploying hybrid cloud architectures in cleared environments, often in a fast-paced, Agile setting.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable, reliable cloud-native applications within AWS
- Build cloud-native microservice full-stack applications and adhere to DoD STIGs or CIS Benchmarks
- Work with current and new software development teams to implement infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Manage and configure Ubuntu, RHEL, and Windows Server operating systems
- Manage and configure air-gapped cloud environments
- Manage and troubleshoot networking issues within AWS cloud
- Manage and troubleshoot cloud-native application deployments and configurations in secured environments
- Manage and promote solutions into higher classification environments
- Manage and configure FENCES
- Manage and configure container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (K8S) or other K8S distros
- Manage and configure Identity Authentication and Authorization, including Single-Sign-On, SAML, or OpenID
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience architecting and developing scalable, reliable cloud-native applications within AWS
- 5+ years of experience with networking for hybrid cloud environments within SIPR, TS, or JWICS
- 5+ years of experience building cloud-native microservice full-stack applications and working with DoD STIGs or CIS Benchmarks
- 4+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Experience with DoD impact levels or classifications, AWS cloud, databases such as SQL and NoSQL, air-gapped cloud environments, and common design patterns such as event-driven architectures and microservices
- Experience with DoD cloud architecture or management, security, or networking
- Top Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT II Certification within 60 days of start date

Pay
$112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD)
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
