About the role
The Sales Outfitter plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. This position involves a variety of selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and courteously, handling merchandise carefully, providing information, assistance, and direction.
Responsibilities
- Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
- Demonstrates product knowledge to customers.
- Replenishes product on shelves as required according to Merchandising guidelines.
- Maintains product expertise through ongoing training.
- Maintains knowledge of advertised sales and signs.
- Aids in seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Restocks merchandise as needed.
- Keeps work area clean, neat, and well-stocked with supplies.
- Fulfills all Company Policies and Procedures.
- Provides a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions through identifying and evaluating their needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum Degree Required: High School education or equivalent experience.
- Knowledgeable about products and able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to customers and colleagues.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Operates a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Skills
- Calculates figures such as discounts and makes change to customers.
- Communicates effectively with others to exchange information.
- Performs repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Operates machinery and power tools.
- Operates motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds constantly, may occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (using a team lift as needed).
- Works in tight and confined spaces.
- Works in noisy environments.
