The starting pay range for this position is $21.25 - $23.25 per hour. The full pay range is $21.25 - $36.15 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role
The Closing team continues the momentum from the team’s day of hard work to finish strong; they take care of the guest until the doors close each night. They prioritize through the eyes of the guest, have a deep understanding of each leader’s vision for their business, and have fun with the team while nailing closing routines.

Responsibilities

- Prioritize the guest experience by modeling, training, and coaching service standards.
- Understand your role in sales growth and how each area impacts total store profitability.
- Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing best practices; help close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team interactions.
- Problem-solve and prioritize across multiple business areas to execute store strategies and deliver business results while prioritizing the guest experience.
- Assist leaders through communication and collaboration to influence sales performance and workload deliverables.
- Support store operations by ensuring departments are zoned, in-stock, signed, and labeled appropriately for the next day.
- Use business planning tools to share priorities and updates with store leadership.
- Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
- Support team onboarding, learning, and accountability to expectations.
- As a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes; address store emergency and compliance needs.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; hold the team accountable for safe behaviors.
- Model a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with their needs.
- Lead by thanking guests and reinforcing their choice to shop at Target.
- Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application as directed.
- Support guest services such as order pickup (OPU), Drive-Up (DU) Orders, DU Returns, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws (e.g., adult beverage regulations).
Requirements
- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Ability to communicate using frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information.
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
