About the role

The Closing Specialist is responsible for activities related to the preparation, review, and processing of loan documentation by directing and performing the loan closing process. Team members in this role own and facilitate the workflow and communication details after loan approval to satisfy closing requirements, loan conditions, and meet customer needs. The Closing Specialist ensures compliance with all regulations and procedures from loan approval to loan certification. This role coordinates with team members to accommodate customer needs throughout the marketplace and contributes independently to routine and recurring work with growing confidence and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a positive customer experience by delivering timely and thorough service that exceeds customer expectations while meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Serves as the primary contact for customers, vendors, partners, and peers. Recognizes customer needs and is proficient in selling appropriate secondary products and services.
  • Confirms requirements for title, appraisal, and any loan conditions.
  • Facilitates the final stages of the lending process from loan approval to loan certification.
  • Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements, gathers appropriate documentation, and prepares accurate loan closing packages.
  • Follows guidance in all process guides as appropriate for the role.
  • Assists with office coverage and serves as a backup to other roles.
  • Completes routine assignments independently using established procedures and sound judgment.
  • Applies working knowledge to resolve common issues and identifies when to seek guidance.
  • Communicates clearly with teammates and internal partners to support coordinated work.
  • Organizes workload to meet deadlines and deliver consistent, reliable outcomes.
  • Contributes ideas that strengthen processes, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Uses available tools and resources to resolve straightforward issues and improve confidence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Mental & Physical Requirements

  • Routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally.
  • Frequently stand or walk; occasionally reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to ten pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision.
  • Work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
  • Requires strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage.
  • Some roles may require a valid driver's license and the ability to drive long distances.

Pay

The salary range for this position is estimated to be $49,208.00 – $89,931.00 annualized. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, qualifications, and allotted budget. Salary ranges are reviewed periodically to remain aligned with market conditions.

Schedule

Full Time, Onsite. Travel required: 0% - 10%.
