About the Role

Act as a collaborative member of the clinical team, ensuring continuity and quality of patient care. This role involves registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and handling telephone inquiries. You will initiate patient care assessments, gather vital signs, prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures, and collect specimens. Additionally, you will provide patient education and support, assist physicians and families, and return patient phone calls.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration and insurance verification.
• Manage scheduling and answer telephone inquiries.
• Initiate patient care assessments and gather vital signs.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures.
• Collect specimens as required.
• Provide patient education and support to assist physicians, patients, and families.
• Return patient phone calls in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification required.
• Minimum of one year of clinic experience in a clinical setting.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Typing, word processing, computer, and telephone skills preferred.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing tasks quickly.
• Proficiency in using computers, fax machines, and copy machines.
• Detail-oriented with strong teamwork abilities.
• Experience with GPMS/EMR is desired.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within the orientation period.
