About the role

Acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Responsible for registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and answering of telephone. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Returns patient phone calls.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
  • Minimum of one year clinic experience in clinic setting
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Typing, word processing, computer, and telephone skills preferred

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience: Minimum of one year clinic experience in clinic setting
  • Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly, detail-oriented, works well in a team environment, experience with GPMS/EMR preferred, BCLS within orientation period
