Essential Functions
- Provides direct supervision to staff within the Same Day Access program, including performance management issues as well as regular clinical supervision.
- Interviews potential employees and checks credentials and/or references as assigned.
- Maintains program utilization, measurable outcomes, and revenue through observations, clinical chart reviews, and available computerized data systems.
- Researches best practice, science-based approaches for both educational and treatment services for a variety of target populations.
- Collaborates with other CSB programs as necessary and appropriate.
- Safeguards compliance with agency policies/procedures regarding the proper maintenance of consumer records, including documentation, treatment planning, service referral, and access.
- Assists in researching funding and grants as necessary to maintain viability of the program(s) and provide enhanced service options based on identified need and available resources.
- Facilitates regular team meetings to address clinical and administrative issues.
- Ensures that program staff maintain the requisite knowledge and competencies to deliver responsive and effective services to meet identified service demands through on-going supervision and clinical chart reviews.
- Provides necessary coaching/supervision and/or training to staff in assessed areas of need.
- Collaborates with additional subject matter experts if needed to augment in-house training and technical assistance.
- Provides performance evaluations of all assigned staff in a timely manner using information gathered through routine individual supervision meetings and direct observation.
- Completes necessary documentation, including weekly time sheets, a monthly program report, and other reports as requested in a timely manner.
- Reviews productivity reports of assigned staff on a weekly basis.
Education/Experience
- Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field.
- Knowledge is normally acquired through six years of college resulting in a Master's degree or equivalent in a human services field.
- Two years' experience in a human services field, preferably in the treatment of mental illness or substance abuse; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Information & Requirements
- VA Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Clinical Social Worker.
- Must be certified or certifiable in Basic First Aid and CPR.
- Valid Driver's License may be required depending on assignment.

- Retirement: If you are hired October 5, 2010, or after to a position with City of Norfolk Retirement System benefits, you will be required to contribute five percent (5%) of your salary toward your retirement benefit. This will be a pre-tax payroll deduction. If you are hired January 1, 2022, or after to a position with Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits, you will be required to contribute five percent (5%) of your salary toward your retirement benefit. This will be a pre-tax payroll deduction.
