About the role
The Clinician provides advanced professional nursing care, applying independent clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills to manage high-acuity patient populations. The role integrates direct patient care with unit-level clinical leadership, supporting care coordination, patient safety, and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and coordinate advanced nursing care using comprehensive assessment, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based practice.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized, goal-directed plans of care.
- Identify, communicate, and intervene in clinical situations requiring escalation or rapid response.
- Serve as a clinical resource and team leader for nursing staff, particularly in high-risk or emergent situations.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership on unit operations, including patient flow, staffing coordination, and resource utilization.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Support performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and quality initiatives at the unit and organizational level.
- Delegate and supervise clinical activities based on staff competency, scope of practice, and patient needs.
- Participate in orientation, precepting, and ongoing clinical development of staff as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing - BSN
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida OR Compact State
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or specialty clinical setting.
- Experience in high-acuity environments such as trauma, critical care, emergency services, or comparable setting.
Qualifications
