About the role

The Clinician I/Clinical Therapist develops a recovery service plan and uses recovery-oriented, therapeutic counseling to engage individuals in their individual recovery journey. The Clinician I/Clinical Therapist also orients individuals to the program by collaborating and assessing needs, identifying challenges and facilitating the development of goals in the treatment and recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the mental health professional for individuals until they are enrolled in services at another community agency, when applicable.
• Conducts thorough clinical assessments and treatment plans for services.
• Assesses the individual’s needs and provides appropriate support and referral.
• Provides family education and family counseling.
• Provides short- and long-term recovery-oriented therapeutic counseling and education, on a group or individual basis.
• Determines a provisional diagnosis, obtains documentation of medical necessity and submits authorizations for service in a timely fashion.
• Completes clinical documentation as required.
• Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
• Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
• Performs other related duties assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• State professional certification where applicable.
• Minimum of one (1) year of behavioral health experience required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Effective listening skills.
• Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement (21 in Arizona, 24 in Louisiana).
• Successful completion and meeting all requirements of the comprehensive credentialing process.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
• Must be able to pass a seven-year background check.
• Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
• Must be able to pass education verification check.
• Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
• If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations’ driving policy, including passing a three-year motor vehicle report and meeting minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier.
• Travel required based on business need.

$18.00 - $21.00/hour

State-Specific Requirements

• Arizona: Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited school (Bachelor’s Degree preferred). Must be 21 years or older.
• California: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Delaware: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Louisiana: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university. Must be 24 years or older.
• North Carolina: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Washington: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university. Additional specified state licensure for Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC).
