Clinician I

Initial compensation for this position ranges from $71,760 - $88,256 per year, depending on experience, location, and internal equity considerations.

Possible additional compensation:

• 8% license differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, and select Peer Certifications
• Bilingual differentials: up to 7.5% for qualifying direct-service roles; up to $80.00/month flat fee for qualifying non-direct service roles

About our Program

Pacific Clinics’ Intensive Outpatient Mental Health Services provides community-based support to individuals 0-20 years old in Santa Cruz County. Bilingual candidates preferred.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9 am – 6 pm

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and evaluations that are culturally relevant and appropriate to youth and family strengths and needs, including identification of target behaviors and the function of those target behaviors.
• Independently develops effective treatment plans with clear and measurable intervention strategies, tailored to child and family strengths, needs, and cultural preferences.
• Provides clinical leadership regarding family system observations and relays behavioral data to the team in ways that demonstrate strengths-based, solution-focused values throughout all phases of service (engagement, stabilization, planning, intervention, and transition).
• Records and collects clinical information in ways that promote and reflect family input while maintaining accountability to risks and threats associated with presenting problems.
• Independently coordinates the integration of comprehensive Functional Behavior Analysis and plans into overall child and family service plans with family members, referral sources, collateral contacts, community resources, and other agencies.
• Facilitates the development and refinement of effective behavior and risk-specific reactive and proactive safety plans.
• Monitors effectiveness and efficiency of interventions with youth and families.
• Demonstrates proficient skills and abilities regarding conflict management and mediation of teams.
• Meets revenue and productivity standards.
• Ensures effective personal organizational systems for paperwork and information management are developed and maintained to support timelines and priorities.
• Performs other related responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department or business needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MA/MS) in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field and two (2) or more years of relevant experience (including practicum/internship hours). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (two years of relevant experience equals one year of education).
• Registration with the California BBS as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).
• Must obtain licensure in the State of California within 5 years.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care, DSM-5 diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Career Ladder Opportunity: Candidates within 6 months of graduating with a master’s degree in a related field may be hired as a non-exempt Clinical Professional Trainee. Upon degree conferral, the individual will have 90 days to obtain BBS registration and will be promoted without competition into the exempt Clinician I position.
