About the role

The Susan Wayne Center of Excellence (SWCE) provides intensive, staff secure, educational and living experiences for male and female adolescents. SWCE prepares them for increased independence as they move into young adulthood. Located on thirty-eight acres of property in beautiful Thompson, CT, SWCE serves 33 adolescents with developmental disabilities who range in age from 10-21. SWCE offers training in cutting-edge treatment models, such as the ARC framework, Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART), and Neurofeedback Therapy. Monthly professional development through SMART and Family Therapy consultation is also provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of five to eight residents.
  • Develops interdisciplinary treatment plans and manages all case documentation.
  • Collaborates with other professionals and agencies as necessary.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Clinical licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC) preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in individual, group and family therapy and assessment with adolescents.
  • Experience and/or training in work with populations impacted by traumatic stress, mental and behavioral health challenges, and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Experience in case management, systems of care, and record keeping preferred.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • Able to be certified in BCC and in American Red Cross CPR/First Aid.

Skills

  • Knowledge in child and adolescent development.
  • Experience and/or training in work with populations impacted by traumatic stress, mental and behavioral health challenges, and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in case management, systems of care, and record keeping.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000 per year. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
