Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is seeking an exceptional Clinical Veterinarian to join our growing Comparative Medicine Core.
Key Responsibilities

- Deliver expert clinical, surgical, and emergency care for laboratory animal species.
- Lead daily rounds, diagnostics, treatment planning, and animal health monitoring.
- Partner with researchers to support study goals while upholding the highest animal welfare standards.
- Oversee anesthesia, analgesia, surgery support, and post-operative care.
- Help drive regulatory compliance, IACUC protocol review, facility oversight, and health surveillance programs.
- Mentor veterinary technicians and research staff while helping shape policies and best practices.
Required
- DVM (or equivalent) from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active U.S. veterinary license with ability to obtain Florida licensure within six months.
- Completion of an ACLAM residency and ACLUM board certification or eligibility.
- At least two years of laboratory animal medicine training and experience.
- Strong knowledge of research regulations and excellent collaboration skills.
Preferred
- AACLAM certified (Diplomate) with experience supporting complex biomedical research programs.
- Interest in mentoring veterinary and research staff.
- Passion for translational and cancer-focused research.
