Clinical Veterinarian (ACLAM Board-Certified or Board-Eligible)

Summary

Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is seeking an exceptional Clinical Veterinarian to join our growing Comparative Medicine Core.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a meaningful career where animal care, research, and impact come together.
• Deliver expert clinical, surgical, and emergency care for laboratory animal species.
• Lead daily rounds, diagnostics, treatment planning, and animal health monitoring.
• Partner with researchers to support study goals while upholding the highest animal welfare standards.
• Oversee anesthesia, analgesia, surgery support, and post-operative care.
• Help drive regulatory compliance, IACUC protocol review, facility oversight, and health surveillance programs.
• Mentor veterinary technicians and research staff while helping shape policies and best practices.

Required

• DVM (or equivalent) from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active U.S. veterinary license with ability to obtain Florida licensure within six months.
• Completion of an ACLAM residency and ACLUM board certification or eligibility.
• At least two years of laboratory animal medicine training and experience.
• Strong knowledge of research regulations and excellent collaboration skills.

Preferred

• AACLAM certified (Diplomate) with experience supporting complex biomedical research programs.
• Interest in mentoring veterinary and research staff.
• Passion for translational and cancer-focused research.
