Clinical Value Analyst-Full time- Days

About the Role

The Clinical Value Analyst in Materials Management acts as a resource, facilitator, and liaison between Materials Management and clinical areas to ensure the cost-effective procurement and utilization of products to deliver optimum clinical and financial outcomes. This position is responsible for assigned clinical product committees and related functions, including agendas, product evaluations, and implementations. The focus is to identify and implement product standardization and total cost-per-unit reductions while striving to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the key person for submission of all new clinical product requests by clinicians, physicians, vendors, and sales representatives from all clinical departments across all Centra facilities.
• Uses clinical knowledge and research to analyze product requests against current items used, FDA approvals, and interdepartmental processes for review of contract compliance, cost benchmarking, clinical efficacy, and patient outcomes.
• Works with clinicians to identify correct products for use in clinical areas and specific patient needs using multiple sources.
• Collaborates with vendors to identify new product technology.
• Organizes and leads projects involving multi-department and multi-facility new product evaluations and product changes.
• Takes the lead in new product conversions.
• Develops agendas and meeting minutes for Clinical Quality Value Analysis (CQVA) and product committee meetings.
• Serves as Chairperson of assigned CQVA and product committee meetings.
• Responsible for meeting annual savings goals of assigned CQVA and product committees.
• Leads clinician representation for Centra and participates in hospital network initiatives driving cost-saving value.
• Develops product evaluation forms, distributes evaluation return boxes to departments, collects evaluation forms, summarizes feedback, and provides it to CQVA committees.
• Works with MedSurg Distributor and internal Centra customers, including Pharmacy, to identify substitutions for vendor backorders and discontinued products.
• Responsible for follow-up of product defects to vendors and collaboration with the Risk Management Department as needed.
• Maximizes current technological resources of the supply chain.
• Identifies alternate vendors and products to achieve process efficiencies and cost reductions.
• Establishes and monitors supply chain goals in the area of responsibility.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Associate Degree
• Preferred Education: Registered Nurse Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing (other clinical degrees/certifications will be considered).
• Required Experience: Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, keyboarding, email, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred Certification: Clinical licensure in the State of Virginia and/or certification in the field of expertise.
