Clinical Training Coordinator

About the Role

Mosaic Life Care (MLC) participates in clinical training experiences for students to provide clinical rotations in community-based settings. NWMO Area Health Education Center (AHEC) coordinates clinical training rotations for medical, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant students. The Clinical Training Coordinator plays a vital role in managing these rotations, ensuring compliance with accrediting bodies, and maintaining relationships with professional schools and preceptors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point of contact between NWMO AHEC and UMKC School of Medicine, acting as a liaison between students and hospital staff/administration.
• Compile and maintain information required by accrediting bodies, including liability insurance, immunizations, background checks, and education.
• Identify and schedule appropriate preceptors for students, ensuring compliance with preceptor approval processes.
• Provide orientation to clinical training students, covering regulatory requirements, EMR access, badge access, and preceptor contact.
• Enter clinical rotation data into the APEX statewide database and track student progress.
• Coordinate schedule changes and communicate with applicable parties for approximately 60-70 medical students.
• Onboard new students, including requesting logins, coordinating EMR training, and arranging orientation.
• Schedule and coordinate required classes (e.g., Scrub class, BLS, ACLS) for students.
• Track and ensure compliance with annual UMKC/Mosaic preceptor contracts.
• Assist with credentialing UMKC preceptors for faculty appointments.
• Support the planning of Inter-Professional Education (IPE) events and maintain an understanding of IPE core competencies.
• Develop and maintain preceptor relationships in Northwest Missouri for clinical training opportunities.
• Manage follow-up of preceptor evaluations and assist with job shadows for UMKC Rural Pathway students.
• Maintain filing, record-keeping, and office systems, ensuring efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Monitor health profession students completing rotations and maintain contact to assess career choices and practice locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field - Required
• 2 Years of experience in either an educational or healthcare setting - Required
• Valid In-State Driver's License - Required Upon Hire

• High critical thinking skills and strong writing and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and email, with typing skills of 40-50 wpm.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to adapt to varied work assignments and manage multiple concurrent projects.

Travel Requirements

Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed.
