Clinical Track Assistant or Associate Professor - Anatomic Pathology
About the role
The Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position in anatomic pathology, with the rank of assistant or associate professor.
Responsibilities
- Providing diagnostic pathology service (including surgical biopsy and necropsy duty) for Virginia Tech Animal Laboratory Services (ViTALS) and histopathology service for the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Animal Health Laboratory Services
- Teaching in the DVM professional program
- Training pathology residents, which includes teaching in graduate-level pathology courses and participating in histopathology rounds
- Engaging in independent or collaborative research
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent
- ACVP/ECVP board eligible
Qualifications
- ACVP/ECVP board certification
- A PhD in the area of biomedical sciences
Skills
Evidence of a research and publication track record is encouraged, ideally in a research focus area of the college which includes infectious diseases, inflammatory/regulatory disorders (including cancer), translational/regenerative medicine, epidemiology/disease investigation.
