Position Overview
The faculty member will have an appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor at Tulane University School of Medicine. The position involves clinical practice at University Medical Center (Downtown New Orleans) and East Jefferson Hospital (in the nearby suburb of Metairie).
Responsibilities
- Maintain an outpatient and surgical practice at East Jefferson Hospital
- Manage the urology service there
- Handle emergency room consultations
- Be an integral part of the new urology clinic being established
- Participate in the practice's coverage of University Medical Center, including on-call responsibilities for the emergency department and in-patient consultations shared by the faculty.
Requirements
Applicants should be eligible for a Louisiana medical license. Candidates must also be fully credentialed at Tulane University Hospital prior to the start date.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is expected to be a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Endourologist with expertise in Endourology (including shockwave lithotripsy, ureteroscopy, PCNL, and prostate enucleation). The candidate is expected to be a clinician-scholar who participates in clinical and translational research. Additionally, there is an opportunity for basic science research collaboration with laboratories housed within Tulane’s Urology Department.
