Clinical Therapist (Full-Time)
About the role
Behavioral Health Services (BHS) is a department offering individual, family and group counseling, and mentoring-based services. Services are provided in various settings including homes, schools, communities, and offices within Chicagoland. BHS services aim to empower participants to utilize their strengths and promote positive outcomes through tailored support and resources.
Responsibilities
- Performs IM+CANS assessment and treatment planning evaluations for clients referred for services.
- Evaluates assessment results and develops clear, specific ITP goals for each client.
- Engages and develops rapport with a wide range of clients, utilizing clinical knowledge and skills to provide appropriate therapies.
- Provides regularly scheduled individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions in office, home, and community settings.
- Maintains confidentiality and safety during therapy sessions.
- Consults with supervisors, other therapists, and consulting psychiatrists on case details and treatment plans.
- Contacts other social service agencies, schools, hospitals, courts, and public mental health organizations to obtain case-related information and make referrals.
- Works effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting and establishes positive working relationships with other professionals.
- Documents actions taken in a timely manner and maintains accurate client records.
- Reports client progress in court proceedings through clear written reports and verbal testimony when required.
- Participates in staffing meetings, team meetings, and supervisory sessions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Human Services, Psychology, or Counseling.
- 0-2 years of experience providing therapy in a clinical or related setting.
- LPC or LSW certification preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-functioning team.
- Sensitivity to special populations and ability to interface with the community.
