About the role

The Main Campus Emergency Department at Cleveland Clinic provides comprehensive care to patients 24/7. Caregivers here treat over 61,000 adult and pediatric patients annually, serving as a crucial link to healthcare for the community, region, and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs and weight
  • Absorb and assist with personal care
  • Perform point of care testing
  • Assist with dressing changes
  • Support patient transfers and transport
  • Apply external monitoring devices
  • Perform further technical skills including phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG’s, and remove urinary Foley Catheters
  • Report any abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to an RN
  • Keep patient rooms clean and orderly

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of recent, full-time patient care experience
  • Proficiency in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an 8th grade level
  • Physical demands: Full body motion, standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, medium work
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred qualifications: BLS certification, one year of recent, full-time patient care experience, additional education/training, military experience as a Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician

Pay

Pay range for this role is $19.25 to $25.95 per hour, with the actual pay determined based on factors such as work history, experience, and skill set.

Schedule

Caregivers in this role work variable shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
