Clinical Technician - Coronary ICU

The J3-1 Coronary Intensive Care Unit provides treatment for various cardiac-related medical problems, such as heart failure, myocardial infarctions, aneurysms, endocarditis, pulmonary hypertension, and other acute and chronic diagnoses.
As a Clinical Technician on our team, you will support your fellow caregivers and medical staff by providing patients with top-quality care. Under the supervision of an RN, you will utilize your technical and applicable skills to enhance the patient experience and create a welcoming, healing environment. Responsibilities
- Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices, and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to an RN.
- Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period
- One year of recent, full-time patient care experience
- Nursing students required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire
Additional education/training may substitute for some/all of the stated experience. Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience. Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
Physical Requirements
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
- Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Schedule
A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
Pay
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $19.25
Maximum hourly: $25.95
