About The Role
- Obtaining informed telephone authorization and conducting comprehensive medical and social history risk assessments with families of patients who authorize donation.
- Collaborating directly with clinicians to perform medical screenings on patients to determine donation eligibility.
- Case management of all aspects of tissue cases and shared organ cases, ensuring seamless transitions and effective case completion.
- Providing accurate, timely information to both internal and external stakeholders.
Schedule
This role follows a rotating 12-hour shift schedule from 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM, including weekends and holidays. The schedule alternates four-day (M, T, F, Sa) / three-day workweeks (Sn, W, Th).
Requirements
- Post-secondary training or education in a relevant field is required.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but other healthcare backgrounds will be considered (EMT, LPN, Medical Assistant, etc.).
- Strong case management & communication skills with a commitment to providing compassionate support to donor families.
- Excellent data entry & computer skills are required. Experience with one or more electronic medical record systems is preferred.
- The ability to multitask in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
