Clinical Supervisor (Cardonald, Clydebank, Dundee, South Queensferry and Aberdeen Various Hours)

About the role

NHS 24 is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to join the team. The role involves delivering high-quality clinical supervision within the telehealth service, supporting colleagues and ensuring safe, person-centred care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality telephone triage, using clinical expertise to ensure safe, effective and person-centred care in a fast-paced and innovative service
• Work as an autonomous practitioner, applying professional judgement, knowledge and experience to undertake comprehensive clinical triage of patients
• Ensure patients and their families receive timely, appropriate, safe and person-centered care, demonstrating compassion, respect and clear clinical reasoning in all decision-making
• At times act as a trusted source of real-time clinical support for peers and non-clinical staff contributing to safe decision-making and outcomes
• Provide clear, accurate and accessible healthcare information to patients and carers, supporting understanding and informed choices
• Offer tailored self-care and health improvement advice, supporting patients to manage their condition safely where appropriate
• Direct patients to the most appropriate service or care setting, ensuring individual needs are fully considered
• Recognize and respond to clinical risk and acuity taking appropriate escalation action to maintain patient safety

Requirements

• You will be registered as an Adult nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register
• You will possess excellent clinical decision-making skills
• You will have extensive post registration experience, preferably within an acute or primary care setting, with a broad range of knowledge across a number of specialties
• You will have critical decision-making skills
• You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

No specific qualifications are required beyond being registered as an Adult nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register.

Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary package, with a permanent contract on Band 6 £43,231 - £52,679*. Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service. Pay

The starting salary is £43,231, with potential for additional payments for working unsocial hours. Earnings can vary based on contracted hours and shift patterns.

Schedule

This role offers flexible shift patterns, including 16, 24, 30, and 36 hours per week, with options for working 5 or 8 weekends per month. Examples of shift patterns are provided in the job pack.
