Clinical Supervisor
About the role
Family Care Center is seeking a versatile, self-motivated, results-oriented Clinical Supervisor to assist with managing a strong clinical team under the supervision of the Clinical Director. This role involves clinical operational oversight and supervision of assigned clinical service staff, including fully licensed therapists and therapist-interns. The position ensures adherence to the organization’s mission, vision, and values, as well as clinical service policies and procedures. The Clinical Supervisor works closely with the Clinical Director and team members to achieve clinical and fiscal division goals and service outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality assurance in clinical care and documentation; recommend and implement changes to improve service delivery and new programming.
- Serve on agency committees, work groups, and other bodies.
- Adhere to federal & state laws, Family Care Center’s Policies and Procedures, HIPAA, and safeguard confidential healthcare information.
- Provide new hire instruction for students in the respective professional discipline as opportunities permit (20 admin hours per week).
- Provide clinical supervision for assigned clinical personnel and support staff, with frequency evaluated based on experience and performance (minimum bi-weekly).
- Lead clinical team meetings to ensure clinical service goals are met and organizational developments are communicated.
- Manage caseload and productivity, ensuring clinical services are scheduled and delivered weekly.
- Monitor compliance with treatment services, review no-show and cancellation concerns, and mitigate barriers to successful treatment.
- Monitor the referral list, assign new cases based on staff workload, and ensure timely access to care.
- Set performance expectations and goals for providers; provide guidance to underperforming providers and consult with the Clinical Director regarding disciplinary action.
- Participate in monthly peer review and quality improvement activities; work closely with the Clinical Director to ensure clinically sound documentation.
- Review, approve, or reject clinical documentation for assigned staff daily and provide feedback.
- Report adverse incidents to the Clinical Director immediately and consult on incidents requiring external reporting.
- Conduct peer supervision reviews twice monthly.
- Review assessments, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations with the Clinical Director.
- Monitor treatment plan compliance to ensure services align with the plan and minimize over/under-utilization.
- Manage productivity in conjunction with the Clinical Director.
- Address complaints about providers or services from payers and/or consumers; report complaints per policy.
- Ensure clinical documentation meets internal and external payer requirements.
- Conduct documented supervision with assigned clinical staff and provide ongoing feedback on service quality and performance.
- Assist with onboarding curriculum/training for new staff and consult with the training manager to ensure standardized practices.
- Monitor HIPAA compliance and report breaches per corporate policy.
- Complete intakes, diagnostic evaluations, CANS Assessments, and CANS 2.0 as needed.
- Establish relationships and communicate with clients, caseworkers, probation officers, family members, and staff.
- Maintain professional licensure in good standing based on licensing requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Manage staff performance and evaluations, including supervising, coaching, and disciplinary action.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a mental health discipline required; Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in therapy.
- At least three years of professional experience in clinical supervision.
- Clinical expertise in crisis intervention, working with chronically mentally ill populations, and individuals/families undergoing acute psychiatric distress.
- Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and represent the company in the community.
- Familiarity with community support systems, healthcare and human service resources, court, and police activities.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Flexibility in workdays and hours, including weekends as needed.
- Adherence to professional code of ethics and knowledge of State Mental Health Code compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise service staff of the assigned program, evaluate employee performance, and make recommendations for employment actions to the Clinical Program Director.
- Direct daily operations of assigned unit(s), including scheduling meetings, services, and workers' time.

Pay
- LCSW, LMFT, or LPC: $92,000 - $101,360 annually, depending on experience. Additional compensation rewards through the 5-star program: $22,000 - $23,000 annually.
- Psychologist: $137,000 - $140,080 annually, depending on experience. Additional compensation rewards through the 5-star program: $24,000 - $25,000 annually.
