About the role
As a member of the Mobile Crisis Team, the Clinical Supervisor responds to mental health crises upon dispatch from approved referral sources. This individual also provides clinical and operational supervision to Mobile Crisis Specialists (MCS), Medical Professionals (MP), and Certified Peer Specialists (CPS).
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and operational direction as a member of the interdisciplinary team, including evaluating program services, planning, and coordinating activities to ensure quality client services.
- Perform on-call duties on a rotating basis, including carrying an Elwyn-issued cell phone, responding to calls 24/7, and scheduling staff to ensure continuous program coverage.
- Oversee monthly mobile crisis scheduling with the clinical team to ensure coverage on all shifts.
- Provide weekly staff supervision, consultation during crisis intervention, and general program administrative support.
- Manage program logistics such as vehicle maintenance, ordering supplies, and distributing County communications.
- Collaborate with the IT department to resolve technical issues for the mobile team.
- Initiate billing protocols by reviewing and approving clinical records.
- Conduct daily case reviews to determine additional behavioral health service needs and required changes following intervention.
- Provide counseling, guidance, and support to individuals served to encourage active participation in their recovery.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate team members to ensure service excellence and compliance with regulations.
- Document all crisis service intervention activities in the electronic medical record before the end of the shift.
- Oversee program improvement initiatives around clinical utilization activities in collaboration with the Director and Quality Assurance Team.
- Assist the Director with community outreach, training, and marketing activities.
- Develop and secure appropriate services for individuals in crisis, including referrals to community resources and involuntary emergency treatment under Pennsylvania Mental Health Procedures Act.
- Support the mobile crisis team in assessing and de-escalating crises, determining the level of care, and developing alternatives to involuntary hospitalization.
- Advocate for individuals served by ensuring receipt of services, coordinating referrals, and interfacing with families and outside agencies.
- Maintain communication with physicians, psychiatrists, pharmacists, and other ancillary service providers.
- Provide supervision in recruitment, selection, training, performance management, and discipline of assigned staff.
- Increase awareness of and support participation in self-help programs and advocacy organizations.
- Ensure compliance with mandated training requirements, including evidence-based crisis interventions and clinical supervision.
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and safe crisis intervention techniques using agency-trained protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); license-eligible candidates may be considered.
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with electronic medical records and IT program support preferred.
- Flexibility to alter working hours as needed.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent judgment and ability to independently solve problems.
- Strong customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and communication skills.
- Current certification/re-certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.
- Ability to perform CPR and crisis intervention techniques using agency-trained protocols.
- Current, valid driver’s license in state of residence with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience in the U.S. and an acceptable driving record.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 12pm-8pm
