Clinical Supervisor - Associate License (MRSS-DD)

About the role

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and operational management for the MRSS-DD team. This position is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating Clinicians and Mental Health Care Professionals (MHCPs) while fostering professional development and a high standard of clinical practice. The role includes clinical consultation, case oversight, and technical assistance to staff, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to agency, contractual, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. The Clinical Supervisor collaborates closely with department leadership, community partners, schools, and service agencies to support program goals and participant outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise clinical staff (Clinicians, Mental Health Care Professionals).
• Provide development, leadership, and technical assistance to staff while carrying a small caseload.
• Collaborate with department leaders to support assigned programs.
• Compile program statistics and provide data and reports as required.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and participation.
• Manage participant feedback and grievances, including follow-up as needed.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, and agencies.
• Develop, produce, and distribute program information to promote programs.
• Assign cases to supervisees and monitor staff documentation and individual case records.
• Support program compliance, including monthly reporting, contract outcomes, and data evaluation.
• Ensure services are delivered and documented in accordance with WAC and contractual requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, coverage needs, and emergency response.
• Support the Clinical Program Director III with programmatic and operational needs of the regional team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Independent licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist through the Washington State Department of Health, OR active associate licensure for at least two years with independent licensure pending.
• At least two years of direct clinical work experience as a Mental Health Professional and/or Child Mental Health Specialist.
• Any candidate who is not already an approved supervisor will be required to take the 15-hour WA DOH-approved Clinical Supervision course within 90 days of hire (paid for by the YMCA).
• Two or more years of training and experience providing emergent, skills-focused, intensive, short-term crisis intervention for families preferred and/or experience working with youth and families in the Child Welfare System.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience with wraparound, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused service delivery models.
• Working knowledge of youth and family mental health, juvenile justice, and chemical dependency systems and providers in King County and Washington State child welfare system strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant Washington Administrative Codes governing Crisis Services and Child Welfare work.
• Intermediate proficiency with computers, basic Microsoft Office software, and case management/client tracking software.
• Experience with project management and business planning, including tracking and summarizing data into reports in a timely manner.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, a high sense of urgency, and ability to consistently adhere to strict timelines and follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience and/or lived experience supporting, advocating for, or working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD).
• Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
• Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Authorized Driver Information

This role has the potential to transport clients as an “authorized driver” for the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS) using your own vehicle (proof of current auto insurance and vehicle registration are required). Driving duties are optional but preferred. Driving roles are safety-sensitive.

• Must be 21+ and have possessed a driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Must pass a drug screen that tests for impairing substances (including marijuana).
• Driving record standards (within the last three years):
  • No more than two vehicle-related suspensions and/or reinstatements.
  • No more than two moving violations and/or accidents (e.g., speeding, improper lane change, failure to yield, failure to obey traffic signals/signs).
• Driving record standards (within the last five years):
  • No major violations (e.g., DUI, DWI, OUI, OWI, BUI, reckless driving, hit-and-run with property damage, racing, driving with a suspended/revoked license, speeding over 20 mph, fleeing police).
• Permanent disqualification from driving duties includes:
  • More than 3 DUI/DWI/OUI/OWI/BUI violations for the entirety of driving history.
  • More than 3 instances of driving with a suspended/revoked license.
  • Hit-and-run resulting in bodily injury or death.
  • Manslaughter/felony death by motor vehicle.
• Due to state-specific reporting requirements, California Driver's License holders are not currently eligible as authorized drivers.

Physical Requirements

• Role may require standing, walking, squatting, sitting, typing, bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.
• Hearing must be adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and in virtual meetings.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently in person, over the telephone, and in virtual meetings.
• Visual acuity must be adequate to perform job duties, including examining printed materials and computer screens.
• Must be able to remain stationary in a sitting or standing position up to 95% of the time.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs., occasionally lifting above the shoulders.
• Must have the physical ability and dexterity to perform requisite healthcare services.
• Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
