About the role

The Clinical Studies Coordinator II supports multiple research studies of various phases. They serve as the principal administrative liaison for assigned studies, managing a complex workload. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining recordkeeping systems, attending clinics, compiling and registering data, and communicating important protocol and data management issues.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of Study Investigators or Clinical Research Nurse Managers.
  • Recruits patients for studies.
  • Performs protocol-specific duties as outlined in the research protocol.
  • Obtains or assists in obtaining informed consent from subjects and reinforces the information provided.
  • Abstracts data from medical records and completes paper and electronic case report forms.
  • Communicates important protocol and data management issues to supervisors.
  • Provides staff relief as needed.
  • Participates in team and department meetings.
  • Engages in quality improvement projects.
  • Mentors new and less experienced staff.
  • Follows established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensures confidentiality and integrity in all actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of experience in clinical research, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: SOCRA or ACRP Certification, CITI certification for Human Subject Research.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • EPIC/WakeOne proficiency.
  • Proficiency in OnCore/WISER Clinical Trial Management System.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Fosters/promotes a positive image and professional appearance.
  • Sensitivity to intercultural relations and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products.
