Clinical Staff Educator - NICU (Full Time, Days)

About the role

The Clinical Staff Educator, in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and unit management, is responsible for staff development as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader, and researcher. This role facilitates the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education, and leadership development, incorporating adult learning theory and age-appropriate guidelines.

Pay

Pay Range:

• Minimum: $121,347
• Midpoint: $160,826
• Maximum: $200,283

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate educational processes for competency assessment, continuing education, and leadership development.
• Apply adult learning theory and age-appropriate guidelines.
• Act as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader, and researcher.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in an area of specialty.
• One (1) year of mentoring/teaching experience.
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited (BRN) school of Nursing.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment.
• Knowledge of regulatory/accreditation agency standards.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and application of adult learning theory.
• Interpersonal relationship, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain flexibility in an environment subject to numerous interruptions.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to set goals and evaluate results.
• Ability to provide care with sensitivity and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Registered Nurse – CA (RN)
• Preferred:
  • Two (2) years of clinical education experience within the specialty area.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Certification in specialty area (within 6 months of hire) and other certification as required.
