About the Role
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Working under general direction, you will provide engineering, sales, educational, and technical support in response to field inquiries from physicians, health care professionals, patients, and field sales staff, involving EP products. This role involves a high degree of independence and requires identifying and routinely using the most effective, cost-efficient, and best business practices.
Responsibilities
- Act as a clinical interface between the medical community and the business, building and sustaining credible relationships with customers while sharing product expertise.
- Provide engineering, sales, education, and clinical support in response to field inquiries on an as-needed basis, demonstrating thorough command of all EP products and related technical knowledge.
- Develop, lead, and/or facilitate trainings and programs on EP products for healthcare professionals.
- Provide insight, guidance, and feedback to management on market feedback and components of the next generation of products.
- Provide regional EP procedural case coverage.
- Offer back-up support to EP Sales Representatives in sales support, regional training seminars, clinical studies/data collection, troubleshooting, and new product in-service training.
- Continuously develop engineering, sales, and technical skills relative to the overall Arrhythmia Management strategy.
- Assist Training and Education departments with advanced educational seminars and preparation of materials.
- Assist Sales with advanced product demonstrations to visiting physicians and sales personnel.
- Remain current on developments in your field, regulatory requirements, and company/competitor products, markets, and objectives.
- Resolve and/or facilitate resolution of problems, identifying causes to prevent recurrence.
- Perform related functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent healthcare experience.
- Ability to become certified on EP products.
- A minimum of two years of increasingly responsible experience in the cardiac pacing and related industries.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cardiology, electro-physiology, or cardiac electro-physiology procedures.
- Familiarity with cath lab and operating room procedures and protocol.
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac pacing systems and the ability to apply engineering skills to interpret and solve complex clinical problems.
- Comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, concentrate on detail, and work independently.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, technical specialists, vendors, and customers, coordinating multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Comprehensive personal computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office or equivalent) in graphics, word-processing, databases, and authoring programs to develop presentation materials.
- Willingness to satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19. Accommodations for medical or religious reasons can be explored with HR.

Pay
The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
