Clinical Social Worker - La Jolla

About the role

The Scripps Clinical Social Worker plays a crucial role within Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, providing support to patients and families through counseling and assistance with personal and environmental issues. They also offer peer supervision and educational opportunities for social work interns.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with personal and environmental problems that may affect their health or benefit from medical care.
• Provide peer supervision for other staff members.
• Assist with program planning and organization of social work services.

Requirements

• Must have good working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing personnel, and all others employed at the hospital.
• Working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and appeal procedures for Federal, State, and other reimbursement programs.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or Master’s degree in Family Therapy (MFT).
• Preferred: Acute Care Hospital experience, licensed by the State of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and ability to speak another language.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university or college (MSW) or Master’s degree in Family Therapy (MFT).

Pay

$42.51 - $61.62/hour*
