Clinical Social Worker II or III - Inpatient - Variable (Tues-Sat) - FT - Orange

UCI Health is one of California’s largest academic health systems and the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. Established on July 1, 1976, UCI Health has grown into a 1,461-bed health system that includes UCI Health — Orange, UCI Health — Irvine, four Community Network hospitals and a growing network of ambulatory care centers across Orange and Los Angeles counties.
Incumbent is responsible for delivering social services, including psychosocial evaluation and treatment, advocacy, teaching, referrals to community services, and assisting as needed with discharge planning. Participates in case coverage and other necessary support for other social workers in the Department of Clinical Social Work / Care Coordination.
Responsibilities
Participates in formal and informal teaching, including supervision of social work graduate students and in-service education for nurses, nursing students, medical residents, fellows, interns, and ancillary staff.
Requirements
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Mastery's Degree in Social Work
- Knowledge of and ability to work within a complex health care system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to interpret and implement all applicable standards and regulations such as, The Joint Commission, DHS, and the Child Abuse Registry
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms, and currently possessing an ASW License.
Required licenses and certifications include a current Clinical Social Work License issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
