Clinical Social Worker (Health/Correctional Facility) - Wasco State Prison (WSP)

The Clinical Social Worker position is located at Wasco State Prison in Wasco, Kern County. Main communication for this role will be through email.

Schedule

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week.

Pay

The monthly part-time salary range for this position is $4,339 to $5,284.50. Effective July 1, 2025, salaries will reflect a 3% base salary reduction under the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025), with employees receiving 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part-time employees are subject to these conditions on a prorated basis.

The authorized Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) rate for this classification is P $4,339 - Q $4,659.50.

A recruitment and retention bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with California Correctional Health Care Services. Eligible individuals may receive a $10,000 one-time stipend after six months of employment, as well as a monthly differential during their first year (totaling $20,000). CDCR and CCHCS employees may also be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus if the selected candidate remains employed for 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and summarize case information for diagnosis, treatment (level of care), and dispositional release.
• Diagnose and/or collaborate in the formulation of a diagnosis.
• Develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Provide assessments, group therapy, and collateral conferences.
• Document and evaluate patients’ progress in treatment.
• Coordinate placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative.
